a.m. This is an amazing time to
learn and grow with your friends here at Como Park Lutheran Church..
Remember, your friends from outside of
church are ALWAYS welcome to join us.
WEDNESDAYS
Confirmation classes for 7th, 8th & 9th graders are held nearly
every Wednesday from 6:30 to 7:45pm during the school year, following
the Como Park Lutheran Church community meal. Meal is served from 5:00
- 6:30pm and the cost is $5 for youth age 12 and up and adults. Family
maximum of $18.
Sunday School Start-Up: Sunday,
September 7th
Please join us for Rally Day (Sunday School start-up)
on Sunday, September 7th. Worship with us at 8:30am or 10:45am. Sunday
School begins at 9:35am. If you haven't signed up for Sunday School
yet, please click on our "About Us" page and print a form.
Bring it with you to church or mail it to the office. Teachers and helpers
will be installed at both services.

Sunday, September 7th
Please join us for Rally Day (Sunday School start-up)
on Sunday, September 7th. Worship at 8:30 or 10:45am; Sunday School
will begin at 9:35am. All youth, age 3 - college age and any adults
that are attending classes are welcome to bring their backpacks to either
service to be blessed. See you there!!
Confirmation and Acolyte
Boot Camp: Wednesday, September 10
7th and 8th graders and their parents are invited to
confirmation orientation from 7:00-7:30pm on Wednesday, September 10.
Learn about sermon notes, mentoring, memory work, small groups, service
projects, calendars and more.
6th - 8th graders and their parents are invited to join
Pr. Marty as he conducts the "acolyte boot camp" from 7:30-8:00pm.
The first night of class for confirmands alone will be Wednesday, September
17, from 6:30-7:45pm.
Bible Distribution: Sunday,
September 14th
3 year olds, 3rd graders and 6th graders will be getting
new Bibles at our worship services on Sunday, September 14. If you have
youth that are these ages, please be sure they attend either the 8:30am
or 10:45am worship services to get their new Bibles.
Moonlight Madness: Friday,
November 14th (register by Sept. 14th)
What exactly is Moonlight Madness? Jr. High youth from
congregations all over the Twin Cities go to Augsburg College, Grand
Slam Entertainment Center, head to the theatre to see a movie, and their
final stop is bowling. They forego sleep (although some caught some
shut-eye at the movie theatre) to have a fabulous time with their friends
and peers from our church and other churches. The bus will leave here
at 9:00pm and return on Saturday morning at 7:30am.
Cost is $27 and covers events, pizza and pop. The date for Moonlight
Madness this year is Friday, November 14th.
Last year, the Jr. High youth that attended this "Lock-out"
event had so much fun that they wanted to see it back for this fall.
20 spots have been reserved for our church and registration is due
by September 14th. Permission forms and payment will be due with
registration.
